Why is it that it seems American car manufacturers are always 'reacting' instead of 'enacting'. It is like we are always playing catch-up. Jeremy Clarkson, of Top Gear, asked a legitimate question a few years ago: "Why does it take a 400 cid (cubic inch displacement) engine for the American's to reach 400 bhp (brake horsepower)? BMW could do it with nearly half that.
The Ford Flex is another example of America not innovating, but reacting to Scion. Is this anything more than a design that was played-out two years ago when Scions stopped looking innovative?
1. The Front
From this angle it actually doesn't look that bad, but I have seen one in person - it looks like an overgrown Scion xB.
2. The Back
What in the world is that aluminium panel? Awful.
3. The Side
How can a car look big and bulky while being useless off road?... while being long and low? Oh, nevermind, it is a Ford.
I wanted this car to be great. I am waiting for American manufacturers to meet the needs of their people, but this is not it.
Did I mention that it gets 22mpg... ON THE HIGHWAY!
The Ford Flex is a Whack Car.
